## Size a joint

- [Motor torque calculator](/tools/motor-torque-calculator?solve=power&t=3.3&n=383): **132 W** of shaft power at its rated 3.3 N·m and 383 rpm.
- [Robot arm torque calculator](/tools/robot-arm-torque-calculator?L=0.4,0.35,0.12&m=1.2,0.8,0.3&a=0.507,0.5,0&p=2): **32 N·m** at the shoulder with its 507 g at the elbow of a 2 kg-payload arm.

## Use cases

- quadruped leg
- legged robot
- robot arm

## Notes

Open-source QDD servo built on the moteus controller (CAN-FD, 5 Mbps). Thermal-limited torque at 24V: 16 Nm peak (\<1s), 10 Nm for 60s, 6 Nm for 400s, 3.3 Nm indefinitely (rated\_torque\_nm uses the indefinite figure). Peak speed 2300 dps (~383 rpm) at 24V, 3600 dps at 36V; backlash +/-0.25 deg (~15 arcmin), input 10-44V. Net weight 507 g per the beta 3 product page (the original beta was 470 g). The mjbots product page lists a regular price of $879 (currently out of stock, MOQ 50); price\_per\_nm uses the 16 N.m peak torque, matching the dataset convention. Marked beta by the vendor.
